It is a pleasure to invite you to the Third Conference of
Latin American Studies Council of Asia and Oceania (CELAO). CELAO was
established in Osaka, Japan, in September 2003, as an initiative to create a
network of Latin Americanists working in the Asia-Pacific region. The first
conference was held at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia, in July 2005 and the second at Seoul, Korea in June 2007.
The Latin American Studies Programme of the Centre for Canadian, US & Latin
American Studies, School of International Studies (SIS), Jawaharlal Nehru
University (JNU) is organising the Third CELAO Conference at JNU, New Delhi
during 3-5 December 2008. The Conference is being organised as part of the
Golden Jubilee celebrations of the School. The Conference hopes to bring
together scholars and specialists from Asia and Oceania, as well as from the
Americas, Africa and Europe. The Faculty of Political Science, Indira Gandhi
National Open University (IGNOU) is collaborating in organising the
Conference.
